This is the first in a series of posts where we highlight some of the presentations given at the recent SchoolNet 2015 Conference in Kwazulu-Natal. We’re starting with Microsoft's Chronozoom. At the end of the information on Chronozoom we will embed Linda’s Conference presentation.
What is Chronozoom?
ChronoZoom is a free, open source, cross-platform, openly-authored timeline of the History of Everything. It’s an educational tool for teachers and students who want to put historical events in perspective.All you need is a browser, iPad, Smartphone, or your Windows App store. Chronozoom is designed to enable educators and students to explore time and tell stories about change over time. Used as a reference tool for history students and teachers, it will capture student's attention and launch him or her into a series of quests for more information about a variety of topics.
How will I benefit from using Chronozoom in my classroom?
Use ChronoZoom to get a perspective of the extensive scale of time and historical events relative to what happened around the world. Become an author yourself! Simply log on with your social networking credentials to record your unique perspective or tell a story that needs to be told.
