Information about this free Open Online Google course was posted in our GEG South Africa community so we’re reposting it here.

Google, in collaboration with representatives from leading educational and scientific platforms, is offering a free online open course on computational thinking. Computational thinking is not restricted solely to computer applications but applies to any other discipline or content area that requires thinking and problem solving. In this sense, computational thinking is ‘a problem solving process' that includes a number of characteristics and dispositions. Whatever subject you teach, from computer science to the humanities, 'computational thinking' can be a powerful addition to your classroom activities.

Register now for the free online course. Join us and other educators around the world as we take on Computational Thinking for Educators.
Dates: This will run from July 15 - September 30, 2015.
To learn more and register for the course, visit http://g.co/computationalthinking and http://goo.gl/Tmmqpu
