4Africa Virtual Academy webinar #2: OneNote for Education

Are you and your students using One Note? OneNote is a powerful note-taking tool created by Microsoft. Some say it is one of the best note-taking applications available. OneNote has been around for quite some times as part of the Microsoft Office suite  but now Microsoft has made  this free digital notebook available separately via Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Chrome. It is such a versatile, useful application that it should be used by everyone!
  • OneNote looks like a digital notebook with it’s pages organised into coloured sections within notebooks. Everything can be kept together within this one application.
  • Another great feature is that yyou can search for text within images and even audio and video files, as well as your inked notes in One Note. It can read your handwriting which can also be converted to text.  In OneNote 2013, you can write and draw on the pages with your fingers!
  • You can embed images, audio, video, and files into any area on the OneNote page. Pages are not linear and everything can be dragged around and placed where you want them.
Last week Megan Rademeyer from SchoolNet and Victor Ngobeni from Microsoft presented a webinar together about One Note in Education. Below you’ll find the downloadable presentation that accompanied the webinar.

It’s really worth watching this 40 minute session. Here is the embedded webinar recording. Click on the full-screen icon to watch it in full size.
